Kalasasaya Temple
“The Priest”

One of the monoliths in the Kalasasaya Temple is located at one corner of the temple, which archaeologists call the Priest.  The figure holds 2 smaller human figures in his hands, 1 figure upside down and the other figure right side up.  The “Priest” is wearing a mask and a strange looking belt around his waist.  The monolith was made of a two colored stone, which I no longer recall.

I felt puzzled about this monolith.  I still do not have any clear feelings about it.  And I do not understand why the inhabitants placed the figure here or why they only placed 1 figure and not several.  Lots of puzzles here.
