The Mexican Central Highlands
October 2010

I first visited the Mexican Central Highlands in January 2005.  Adele and I spent 6 days at Teotihuacan just northeast of Mexico City.  Unfortunately, I did not bring a camera with me because after that trip INAH prohibited people from walking to the top of the Pyramid of the Moon.  I returned to this area in October 2010 with my friend and guide Enrique.  Together we visited several sites around Mexico City.

I found these sites challenging.  At all of them the inhabitants practiced human sacrifice.  At some temples, they sacrificed infants and buried them under each corner of the pyramid or temple.  I felt that the energy at these sites was harsh and abrasive, a dramatic contrast to the gentle peaceful energy of the Mayan sites.
