Stela C

I do not recall much about Stela C, except seeing some of the original red paint on the figure’s face.  Stela C has figures on both the front and back, although I cannot recall why I did not photograph both sides.  The stela has a turtle-shaped altar in front.

According to the LONELY PLANET GUIDE to HONDURAS, 1st Edition, January 2007, ISBN 978-1-74059-150-8, page 151, Stela C again represents Copan’s 13th ruler, Uaxaclahun Ubak K’awil (“18 Rabbit”).  The Mayans completed this stela around 782 A.D.
