The 1st city that we visited was Palenque, my absolute favorite Mayan city :-)  We had a little adventure getting our Passports and Visas stamped; after that things got easier.  We got to our hotel near the ruins and relaxed.  Unlike previous visits, I did not feel the urge to visit every temple.

  On December 21st, the Winter Solstice, the sky poured rain like I have never seen before.  Several groups came to Palenque to chant and pray and hold ceremonies.  Despite the weather, I had a great (albeit wet) experience.
