Yucatan - December 2009
Ake

The day after visiting Dzibilchaltun, we visited the ancient Mayan city of Ake.  I felt drawn to visit the “Atlantes” temple and chant mantras there.  The site was empty for most of the day, with occasional small groups of people stopping by for a visit.  INAH is clearing and restoring a temple next to the “Atlantes” temple, which I nicknamed the “Long” Temple.  Enrique and I performed a small quiet ceremony on the “Chultun” Temple.  We spent all of our time in the courtyard area, around the “Chultun” Temple and the “Atlantes” Temple.

For other photos of Ake, please see my Ake webpage from last year and December 2007.
