Temple III was on the way from Temple II to Temple I. It was smaller and felt quiet.
According to the INAH Plaque accompanying the temple, the Mayans built Temple III in the Peten region style during the early Classic Period (between 250 and 600 A.D.). The Mayans did not modify Temple III. The archaeologists suspect that the funeral chamber inside Temple III was conceived when the temple was constructed and that may be one of the reasons why the Mayans did not modify this temple.
