Stela XXIV

According to the INAH Plaque accompanying the stela, Stela XXIV (Roman numeral “24”) documents a period following the ruler Yukom Yich’ak K’ak’s reign.  the end of period 9.13.10.0.0 is recorded along with a bloodletting ceremony.  The person illustrated on the stela is named as Yukom Tok K’AWIL, and his name is followed by one of the few examples of the emblem glyph for “Serpent Head”.


I think the red on the stelae above is the remaining red paint.  These stelae actually looked interesting and engaging.
