One of the corner pieces from the top of the Pyramid of the High Priest sits in front of the southwest side of the pyramid. The Mayans carved it in the Puuc architectural style, which I love.
According to the INAH Plaque accompanying this corner, these corners each contain 4 masks. Archaeologists suspect these masks represent the rain god Chaac, Kukulcan, or Itzamna, supreme gods and patrons of the lineages (bloodlines).
