Temple XXXVI

I enjoyed the energy of Temple XXXVI (Roman numeral 36).  This temple reminded me of the temples at Teotihuacan.

According to the INAH Plaque accompanying this temple, Temple XXXVI is a partially uncovered pyramid consisting of 4 square and stepped platforms with a height of 9.40 meters (about 30.55 feet).  The temple has stairs facing the south and the Central Plaza.  Temple XXXVI held a temple on its top, probably made of perishable material because archaeologists found no vault stones.  Temple XXXVI dates to the years 900 - 1000 A.D.  Archaeologists found 2 broken stelaes (XVIII and XIX) at the temple’s base, reused and embedded.
