The front of the Palace Diablo in Group Ah Canul at Oxkintok

Just past the Palace of the Initial Series is Palace Diablo.  An amazing stela stands in front of Palace Diablo.  I loved it.  I do not recall feeling anything about the Palace.

According to the INAH Plaque accompanying this temple, archaeologists called this temple the Palace Diablo because of the anthropomorphic column representing a skeleton type person with 2 openings in the upper part of its head in front of the principal facade.  3 rooms compose this palace: a front room, a back room, and a side room flanking the 1st 2 rooms on the east side.  The Mayans built this palace during the Terminal Classic Period (750 - 1050 A.D.).
