Yucatan - December 2009 Uxmal

The day after visiting Hochob and Edzna, Enrique and I visited Uxmal.  Not much had changed since my previous visit in November 2008.  In fact I noticed that INAH had again not cut the grass, making the courtyard in front of the House of the Doves impassable again.

I felt drawn first to the Nunnery Quadrangle and then the Governor’s Palace.  Later we visited the Grand Pyramid and the House of the Doves and then the Edifice Chenes.  We briefly visited the Cemetery Group and tried to find the North Group but got confused and gave up.  Later in the afternoon we returned to the Nunnery Quadrangle and finally the Pyramid of the Magician.  Uxmal once again felt wonderful: soft and gentle and loving.  I could stay here all day for a week or more and never get tired of the place: great energy.
