After visiting Temple IX, we walked over to Temple X. Temple X has a really cool serpent/monster mouth doorway on top. Sitting in the energy of the doorway felt great. Temple X had buildings extended on the left and right sides and the back, with a ball court behind it.
According to the INAH Plaque accompanying this temple, Temple X contains 12 rooms distributed over 2 levels. The Mayans erected a temple on the upper part and decorated the facade with representations of Itzamna, the Creator God, known also as the Earth Monster. The symbolic content of the group is complimented with the roof comb or flying facade, on which stucco figures were modeled.
