After walking past the Cenote Xtoloc and the Cenote Xtoloc Temple, you walk down a path for quite a ways that opens up to a large open field, which is the Principal Plaza. Most of Chichen Itza’s well known temples are in the Principal Plaza:
All of the temples in the Principal Plaza have the crude blunt Toltec architectural style. The style incorporates the square from Sacred Geometry, along with lots of skulls and fierce creatures like jaguars.
